2025-2026 Freeman, Robinson, Perkins Scholarship Application

(City College High School, Baltimore)

The Freeman, Robinson, Perkins Scholarship is awarded in honor of three friends that graduated from City College High School in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Perkins loved jazz music and was passionate about creating opportunities for underserved youth to improve their social, economic, and intellectual status in life.

This scholarship is awarded to a City College High School graduating senior who’s talented in music or vocal arts. 

Number of Scholarships: One (1) scholarship will be awarded in May 2026.
Applications must be submitted by: May 1, 2026, 11:59 PM.
Scholarship amount: $1,000

Scholarship Eligibility:
*** Must be a graduating high school senior (2025-2026 school year) at City College High School
*** Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
*** Submission of an unofficial high school transcript
*** All transcripts must be submitted using the grading policy/GPA scale currently used by their school
*** Acceptance letter from college/university (copy must be enclosed with application) and teacher letter of recommendation
*** Demonstrate action within the community or school  

Awards will be announced in May 2026.

Awards will be announced in May 2026. Scholars will be required to submit a headshot, write a thank you letter to the foundation, and attend a scholarship awards ceremony on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The RTL Foundation may ask for students to provide an update on their progress.
